Unruly Baseball Fan Apparently Shocked That He Was Tasered At Ballgame

Another belligerent citizen thumbs his nose at authority and gets what he deserves.

A man was arrested for sitting under the influence (Correction: sitting in an unauthorized seat under the influence) at an Oakland A’s game last night. The squatter, who refused to vacate his unlawful seat, had to be electronically subdued and then removed by not one, not two, but three police officers. Count ‘em. One. Two. Three. That’s three police officers forced to abandon their surveillance posts, compromising the security of fans throughout the stadium, just to deal with this feebleminded fanatical fan.

What’s more, the man not only refused to comply with repeated requests to relinquish his illegally obtained seat, but also obstreperously defied police by literally thumbing his nose at them. A witness-video clearly shows the man placing his thumb on the tip of his nose and wiggling his fingers at the authorities.

The man, well past his youth, obviously felt above the law. Although he got what he deserved, the same can’t be said for the law-abiding, ticket-bearing fans dealt the unfortunate fate of sitting nearby. Forced to play witness to drunken disregard for authority, a slew of sailor-slung-slang, not to mention an unwelcomed interruption to an otherwise peaceful game, the fans found themselves in the middle of another public disciplining of a wayward citizen.

How dare this cretin, this curmudgeon, this beer-drinking-batty-right-wing loutish loaf — who more than likely opposes progressive health care reform — selfishly impose his selfish self upon the unsuspecting fans of Oakland. Oh, he believes in laws all right. He believes in laws for you —not for him. He thinks he can sit anywhere he damn well pleases and to hell with everyone else.

The right-wingers are out of control. First they invaded town hall meetings. Now they’re invading America’s pastime. What’s next? Invading country fairs to throw apple pies at Democrats who support legitimate reform of our health care system? Boycotting Chevrolet auto dealers just because GM got a bailout? (Which, by the way, saved thousands – probably millions — of jobs.)

Look, I’m not saying the lawbreaker deserved to be cattle-prodded, but then I’m not saying he didn’t deserve it, either. I wasn’t there. I have to rely on video hearsay. Although one thing is certain and beyond any reasonable doubt: A ticketless fan paid the price for crashing a game. A price, I’m sure, that was much higher than the cost of a ticket.
