It’s a shame, really, that the business of politics is interrupting the politics of business. The issue is this: Just because the administration pledged not to hire former lobbyists for government posts, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t hire the best man or woman. Particularly when the candidate is clearly the most qualified person for the job.

America’s complaining citizenry needs to STOP acting like spoiled brats and start acting like responsible consumers. ALL politicians make campaign promises that prove impossible to keep. The citizens must accept this if America, the greatest country in the history of history, is to move forward. Please inform your friends, neighbors, family, co-workers — even strangers that it is downright not upright, nor very polite, to disrupt the political process via mob-inspired tantrums.

Politicians sacrifice everything just so they can serve you. You wouldn’t want to be a politician. Remember that next time you want to criticize an elected official.

At this stage of the game, it may behoove everyone to ponder this: Don’t question the government. Question those who question the government. Surprised? Don’t be. The current administration is working for you — not against you (as many Republicans would have you believe.)

Indeed, if the government decides to increase the war effort then support that increase. If the government determines that “We the people” must give up a few of our redundant freedoms, then be a patriot and show that you put country first. Be a leader. Explain to the panicked citizenry that giving up certain freedoms is not giving up. In fact, by sacrificing freedom and liberty they will be making America stronger — and safer. That, my fellow Americans, is something everyone can live with.

Patriotically yours,

Unconcerned Citizen
